Past projects explore a diverse breadth of woven techniques and aesthetics from smaller three dimensional experiments to power loom lengths. Varying weights of yarn are used such as lambswool, alpaca, mohair, silk and cotton. Inspiration is obtained both locally and globally. Psycogeography is a project showcasing a combination of subtle colour and delicate finishing processes reflecting the landscape in and around Brighton, using the complexities of weaving as a way to convey a sense of place. Unconventional materials interprets minimalist architecture by juxtaposing lambswool and silk and utilising double cloth and extra warp structures. Eco Ocean is a trend based project, developing ideas around a chosen theme of sustainable fishing. The resultant woven collection uses only recycled or natural yarns to reinvent traditional tweed fabrics.
